The Process

With that said, the process of preparing teeth to receive porcelain dental veneers is pretty straightforward.

The first step is to ensure that the portion of your mouth that will be worked on is comfortably numb. It’s very rare to have any significant pain during this procedure, but at Fox Family Dentistry, we value your comfort.

Then, a small amount of enamel – roughly half a millimeter, in most cases – is removed from the fronts of the teeth that will receive the veneers. This is to ensure that the thickness of the teeth, with the addition of the veneers, matches the thickness of your other teeth. It also helps avoid having a “bubbly” appearance to your smile.

During this visit, we’ll take careful measurements of the prepared teeth, and then place temporary veneers. About a week later, your new, beautiful, permanent dental veneers will be ready. At your second visit, the permanent veneers will be firmly bonded to your teeth.

And you’ll walk out with the smile of your dreams.
